AI Steals $290,000 In A Chinese Poker Competition- Beats World Series Winner.

Lengpudashi, An Artificial Intelligence system developed by a pair of researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Which is able to beat a 6-member poker team called 'Dragon team'. Including Yue Du, who won the World Series of Poker in the month January of this year. The cash prize of $290,000 has been given to the winner.

> According to a Bloomberg Report - AI Challenging Human Minds:

Listening to stories about AI which challenge human minds is no longer a big problem. According to a Bloomberg Report, An Artificial Intelligence system called “Lengpudashi”, located in the “Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center”, was effective after beating six poker players in a five-day race held in China. It involved a total of 36,000 hands between the AI and the team within five days.

> Lengpudashi wins Cash Prize by Beating Team Led By YUE DU:

A prize of $ 290,000 has been given to “Lengpudashi”. The opposing team, including engineers, IT and investors, was led by a winner of the “Yue Du” world series. During the game, the team tried to exploit their data of “Machine Learning” and game theory, but things did not go as planned.

> Tuomas Sandholm and Noam Brown Developed AI System Lengpudashi:

“Lengpudashi” is a creation of “Tuomas Sandholm”, professor of computer science at “Carnegie Melon University” and a PhD student “Noam Brown”. This pair of researchers was also behind another Artificial Intelligence system called “Libratus” (a predecessor of Lengpudashi) which won a 20-day poker competition earlier this year.

> Money Price Will be used to Firm Strategic Machine:

The money price got from the poker competition will be used to finance company Strategic Machine. Artificial intelligence systems have confirmed their quality in other games, such as Chess and Go.

> Poker is Bit Different Game - Imperfect Information Game:

However, the poker case is a bit different. Also, is often branded by computer scientists as an "imperfect information game". Most of the game is based on supposition. Unlike chess, where all the pieces are visible on the chessboard.

> What Noam Brown Told Bloomberg?

Poker involves complex gambling strategies. Also, you must rely on your bluff skills and should be able to detect if your opponent is bluffing. "People think the bluff is very human, but it's not true," Noam Brown told Bloomberg.

> Decision-Making Skills Will be useful in  areas such as companies, IT security:

Making the Artificial Intelligence Systems overcome humans is not something that should be taken as a demonstration of lead. According to Sandholm, it is a way to refine strategic decision-making skills that can be useful in other areas such as companies, IT security, etc.
